Cumana

Cumana Village, traditionally known as Redhead Village is located in the County of St. David in the Northeastern Region of Trinidad. The name Redhead Village may have been given because of the early Amerindian people who lived in the area.

Galera Point in Toco is the closet point to the sister island of Tobago

The main part of the village was originally in Anglais Road and was called Besson Village. The area has traditionally been known for hunting, fishing and agriculture. In the past local people had a very strong focus on agriculture and took lots of goods to market to be sold. Cumana Village has the largest population on the Northeast coast from Matura to Matelot.
