HADCO Experiences at Asa Wright Nature Centre

Asa Wright Nature Centre is a sanctuary.

Nestled in the calm embrace of a luxurious and ancient rainforest along Trinidad’s Northern Range, the Asa Wright Nature Centre was established in 1967 with a mission to preserve and enhance a portion of the Arima and Aripo valleys for wildlife conservation, education, and scientific research.

Home to an easily accessible breeding colony of the rare nocturnal Oilbird, the Centre covers 1,300 acres of protected rainforest, which houses a rich biota with an outstanding species list that includes native mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and butterflies, with a variety of flowering fauna.

With a total of 29 rooms available for overnight accommodation, guests of the ecolodge do not have to venture far, as the undistilled beauty of the environment greets you upon arrival. Overnight guests will have their senses awakened at the cusp of dawn by the melodious harmonies of birdsong and the chatter of other forest dwellers.

With sustainability at the core of our efforts, HADCO Experiences is also engaged with transforming the ecolodge’s operations to achieve international green certification thereby supporting the Asa Wright Nature Centre Trust’s mission of conservation, education, and research.
